Ticked the box.......

I claimed a Barclaycard PPI refund but was refused because I ticked a box for PPI, it must have been a postal application. Is this considered a good enough reason for refusal?
Also, I have claimed my Lloyds PPI back and have had a letter stating that they want me to call them to answer some questions. Trouble is I can't remember how I took out the PPI, either in Branch or by post so what type of questions are they likely to ask?

Depends on the reasons you gave for the claim.
For instance my claim with mbna, was due to me not needing PPI and I had funds to pay the card if I lost my job. or my partner could. So most of the questions they asked were around affordability regarding repaying card if I lost my job.
just take your time and think about your answers. if you can't remember the answer to some questions just tell them. (they asked me the amount of savings/wages, I could only give ball park figures)0 -
Yes, if you bought on-line and ticked the box, it can't have been mis-sold as no one sold it to you.Badger2849 wrote: »I claimed a Barclaycard PPI refund but was refused because I ticked a box for PPI, it must have been a postal application. Is this considered a good enough reason for refusal?0 -

In very simple terms, yes it is good enough for a reason. The PPi issue is not about the product but how it was sold to you. If it was a postal application and you ticked the box and no employee of barclaycard was involved then it significantly reduces the reasons you can use for complaint.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
