Booked holiday with expedia

I have just booked a holiday with expedia and while I inputed mine and my girlfriends details correctly on expedia, lufthansa who we are flying with have not got the name details 100% correct for my girlfriend.

She has a middle name on her passport so I inputed her middle name on expedia but lufthansa have combined first and middle name together so instead of being Forename Middlename Surname lufthansa have got it on their booking as Forenamemiddlename Surname.

I'm just wondering if this will be an issue? I've heard of airlines doing things like this before because names are too long for the amount of characters they have available etc.

It's still clearly her name and it is spelt right they just have not put a space between forename and middle name

Depends where you are flying - If its the US, they tend to be punctilious. Other places not so much. Been here with my ex's middle name before and although we got to fly eventually, it was a very tight and nerve-wracking thing that was largely resolved by the the goodwill of the desk-staff at the airport to get sorted-out.

You would be best to contact Expedia and get this corrected ASAP because they will not be very interested if you phone at the last minute!

It to Germany. Would it be expedia to contact or lufthansa though as expedia seem to have the correct details just lufthansa do not.

If it involves re-issuing a ticket, the you may have to go-through Expedia - But it might be worth contacting Lufthansa directly to see if they can. My experience turned-up that there are several ways to go about this but going via the original agent is the preferred one.

It won't be an issue -as the names are spelt exactly as they are on the passport.

Call Lufthanasa for confirmation for your own peace of mind as obviously you can't tell which posters actually knows how it works and who makes it up as they go along though.

It also doesn't take very long to find out that Expedia's concept of customer service is very sketchy indeed - Which is fine if you don't have any potential issues with a ticket but not something you will find very useful if you are actually stuck somewhere with a paid-for but otherwise unusable ticket.

Expedia once booked me on a return flight that didn't even exist - which didn't cut any ice with the airline concerned when I rolled-up to fly, although they did give me a decent discount on one the next day and sent down a bottle of champagne as an apology for a very uncomfortable night on an airport bench and thanks for not going into total meltdown with their desk staff! :D

It won't be an issue. I only ever use my short 1st name (Alex) never my full name (Alexander) when flying, never even add my middle name (which is long and weird) despit the full long versions of both being on my passport, and in 50 flights it's never even been mentioned at the check-in desk. In fact, I usually also check in online and have noticed that the flight staff at the gate give the boarding card and passport only the most cursory comparison.

    Happy travels
