Paying for a contract that ended 2 months ago.

Hi MSE,

Please any information would be brilliant here.

I was on a JUMP contract where I paid £26 each month for a handset for 2 years. This should of ended in June.

I have had money taken out for the last 2 months. I rang up and they said because I didn't renew it the payments carried on incase I wished to jump my contract (upgrade handset).

I do jot want an upgrade and have ended the contract but am I entitled to try and claim the last 2 months money back?
Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.

mobile phone contracts dont just end, what ended was the minimum term.

its upto you to cancel it after the minimum term is up, otherwise they will just continue to run.

if you didn't cancel it, then you will have to pay up to the point that you finally had it canceled

I don't know what a 'JUMP contract' is, but if you are talking about a mobile phone contract with an initial period of two years, it is quite normal for them to continue beyond that initial period without any intervention from you.

Generally, if you wanted to terminate the contract after that initial period, you needed to contact them and give them notice of termination.

Check the terms and conditions of your contract for your specific details.
