this isnt really a warning or a vent just something i noticed
i done a car insurance quote with moneysupermarket , churchill came out best
i then went onto the churchill website and done same quote to check and it came out £22 higher
i then went on topcashback and noticed they offered £31.50 cashback for a new policy so clicked through and my quote jumped another £18
so what i done was went back to the moneysupermarket clicked through then saved quote on churchill
i then went back to topcashback clicked through and retrived quote and bang it was original price and my cashback has tracked
this may sound obvious to some but may be of use to someone as a tip

Good luck getting cashback! Last September I bought car insurance through Topcashback and have been chasing it all year. A few weeks ago the amount started showing as 'claimed' and I am waiting for it to become 'payable'. I am now a month away from buying car insurance again, so the race is on...0

Watch out with Churchill, their renewal means you end up paying in lieu instead of in advance so if you go to cancel it at the end of the policy they want a month's fee and state it's because it switches around.
Still not convinced that's the right way of doing it but I had to cough up in order to get my NCB certificate for Direct Line.0 -

Three years ago phoned Churchill told them I'd a penalty for doing 39mph in a 30mph zone. The chap I spoke to said "You'll be pleased to know there isn't any increase in premiums". Great!. Two years ago, for some reason it didn't auto-renew so I phoned them on the renewal date and went through the details. The speeding came up and the chap said they had no record of it. I told him the story, but no record and they would have to recalculate the premium. £148 for the previous year and £148 for the current year. As it was the last day I just accepted it and told them I would be leaving at policy end for that year. Later they phoned me and said I could get my insurance for £150 or some daft low number so I said go through the details and it came out at £800+. I told him I was only paying £400+ for my current policy. He stammered an apology and ended the convo. Churchill!! Oh, NO!! Probably out in Hollywood making westerns. :cool:0
