Barclaycard initial application

Hi all,

This is my first time here so sorry if question has been asked previously. I have a fair credit history and have no previous credit cards and thought I'd apply for a barclaycard initial yesterday afternoon. To cut a long story short, I applied , it seemed to go through ok, asked me to sign a credit agreement and set up a pin and memorable word to manage account online and then said something along the lines of processing, we will be in touch in 5 days.

Having not applied for one before I am unsure to what this means exactly? It didn't seen like an outright decline and I can see they searched my credit through equifax, has this happened to anyone else and what was the outcome? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you have been initially accepted. But even at this stage they could still decline you so its just a case of wait and see unfortunately.

Ah ok thank you tixy, I was just unsure how these applications worked so didn't have a clue what it meant.

Oh also who decides on it now then?

Do you mean who makes the credit application decision? That is the underwriters of barclays.

Hello Confused,

hopefully you've already heard from Barclaycard but just to add i recently applied and within a couple of days received a text message confirming acceptance. The card and pin was sent a couple of days after that. It was all done very quickly!

hi when i applyed i got same as you pin number to set up etc ,once u set it up online u will see ur limit ,u should be able see it now ,card should be with u in about five days:j
