Measuring for venetians is not a s easy for an exact fit.
To start with: Internal or external fit.
Do you want them to go into a reveal, (Internal) IE: inside of the window/wall. The width will need to be checked top middle and bottom and the blinds cut to suit the smallest size. So many only measure the top only to find the middle is narrower.
What width of slats do you want, this determines the thickness of the blind, this can prevent it hitting the window handle (most double glazing window handles stick out 35-40,mm) . The blind may need fitting at the edge rather that up against the window frame.
Exact fit: The brackets are on the end and are 2mm thick, this means the edge of the blind will still be 2mm off the side wall on each side.
External: better option as the blind can overhang the window reveal by 50mm each side. This gives better light shade coverage
No issue with handles, and measure can be less precise.
Also less issues fixing the brackets as internal fixing into a steel lintel is often a major job needing special drill bits etc.
Height measurements should be the same. If external fit, top to bottom on both sides and middle. The longest measure is the one you use.
When ordering on-line or by phone. They will make the blind to the size you give them.
NB: I bought 12 blinds (wood) from IKEA, they all needed adjusting but have been up and used for 7 years, including cleaning in the shower. Bespoke is not always the cheapest.

I got mine from Concept Blinds Direct. They were good, they did send one wrong blind (one tube got mixed up with someone else's order), but they sent out the new one quick smart.
The measurements do have a little wiggle room in them, but not too much! As long as you've measured a few times I'm sure you'll be fine. There is a measuring guide on that website.
As to returning if you don't like them... as far as I understand custom made items are excluded from the DSRs, so if you just don't like them you can't return them.0 -
Blinds are now up and running .
All my measurements were ok but could have been better .Next time i order perfect fit blinds i will use two of the brackets from the blinds now up and place them in the rubber seal and measure between the brackets ON THE WINDOW TO BE MEASURED this will be more accurate .Any one thinking of getting perfect fit blinds made online i would highly recommend it i saved over £230 .Keep in your thoughts the poor Beasts of burden around the World and curse All who do them harm.0
