Why all the questions ?

Hi all,
I have started a claim for ppi with TSB they rang me yesterday and told me i have 2 claims one from 2000 and one from 2006, they then proceeded to ask me lots of questions about who i was working for ? how much i earned ? did i qualify for sick pay ? and so on, why are they asking these questions ?

There is nothing wrong with having PPI. There has to have been something wrong in the sale of the product for it to be classed as a mis-sale. So, they need information to decide if that is the case or not.
If your initial complaint gave insufficient information or they have been unable to find any evidence of wrongdoing at their end then they will ask extra questions to make sure it was suitable (or not). Usually in areas you have not mentioned or they have insufficient info on.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. The ppi claims are concerning credit cards, as far as i can remember i wasn't told that ppi was included in my monthly bill, as i didn't actually apply for the cards face to face with anyone, aside from the initial request for a credit card, after which i was told i would be informed "if i qualified for a credit card" i was told via a phone call i did, and as far as i remember i didn't sign for ppi.
If they claim i did agree to it, can i ask for proof of signature ?0 -

That is a very weak complaint and not logically correct. Every month you are sent a statement and if you fail to pay the full amount, they will levy a PPI premium which then appears on the next statement. PPI is a transaction in the same way a purchase of petrol would be.
This would explain why they are trying to find out more as there is almost certainly no evidence to support your complaint and they are complying with regulatory requirements to check the overall sale and not just the things you mention.If they claim i did agree to it, can i ask for proof of signature ?

PPI isn't "included" on credit card bills, it shows as a separate amount so you would have seen it every month on your statement if you didn't pay the balance off in full.
You would have had the chance to query it from the first time it appeared.0 -
It's not "included" though. It's listed every month on a separate line if your account has a balance. If you pay off the balance for a given month, no PPI is paid.philfatkid wrote: »i wasn't told that ppi was included in my monthly bill
So there was no need for them to tell you that the PPI was "included", because it never was or could be.0
