electric metre

Hi,

Wonder if anyone can help, im going away for 2 weeks and im on a electric metre im planning on topping it up before we go but im panicking will run out. Does anyone know if I leave the key in the metre will it automatically use the emergency credit id needed.

    Just top up with a little extra?!

    The METER will charge a daily standing charge, which over 2 weeks will be about £5-£6, then whatever you leave switched on will consume electricity. If no one is at home I wouldn't expect your useage to be much over the 2 weeks. Maybe £20 would be ample unless you have a hot tub / swimming pool or a house full of tropical fish tanks or something.
