I'm wondering how you managed to move shortly after moving in. Normally tenancy agreements have a minimum of 6 months.

If you are surrendering the property and moving out by mutual agreement, then I'd have got the ETC to be paid by the LL as part of that arrangement.

If a LL wanted to kick me out and cost me £250 for unused internet, I wouldn't move before that was paid.

When we moved into the apartment we had no idea that the owner had plans to demolish the place, we were told it was to be a long tern let by the owner.

What subsequently happened proved that in fact she had been thinking about demolishing the house for some time and had in fact applied once before to demolish the house.

Had we not been assured that it was a long term let there is no way we would have taken it on.

Was I supposed to ask virgin in which parts of our town they had fibre optic cables installed before we looked for somewhere else to live?????

It looks as if I am going to have to bite the bullet, but I am not happy that virgin have also broken their part of the contract.

So how is this anything to do with VM? You have broken the contract, not them. Any dispute you have with your former LL is a third party matter, so try to recover the ETC from them-you have nothing to lose.
