Credit after default expired

I'm looking at selling house to clear 4 defaulted credit cards of which 1 defaulted 4 years ago. Planning to settle using pro rota reduced payment as partial but settled. Will this affect my credit in the future when reapplying for a mortgage after the last default is just over 6 years old.

Also does anyone have a idea how to request under freedom of information act what was paid by a 3rd party if the balance sold on as caboot say they don't need to advise this

Not unless a lender either asks you to disclose this on an application form or you are applying to one of the companies you previously owed. Both probably unlikely.

The impact of a partial settlement compared to the actual default even when the entry is still on your report is arguably not great or simply negligible.

FOI only applies to public/government bodies, so cannot be used to get the information you need.

Cahoot are correct that they have no obligation to tell you, and as such information is commercially sensitive they may even be barred under contract from disclosing it. Sorry.
