Hi all
Looking for some advice, we hired a car in Florida with Thrifty and all was well - after we got back we received a letter stating that we would be charged $96.59 for traffic violations... We then received a letter approximately two weeks later stating that the original letter was a mistake and there would be no charges.
Unfortunately I checked my bank balance to find they had taken $321.93 from my account - obviously I contacted Thrifty who said:
"We have reviewed your account and see that all fees were waived on 12/06/2013. The credit card you had on file with the rental agency was not charged for this billing error. If you still believe you were charged then please provide us with your credit card statement showing we charged you $96.59."
I sent a scanned copy of my bank account with that transaction showing back in January and have chased it up three times since then but they have never responded again!
How can I proceed? They are based in the US of course so I'm not sure what rights I have, if any!
Thanks for your help!!
