O/S Daily Thread Thursday 7th August

Options
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good Morning chums, beautiful day here at the moment (long may it last :)).DGS Henry had his braces fitted yesterday and he was very calm about it and never made a fuss. There was one little girl there who you'd have thought was being tortured the amount of noise and palaver she was making. She was about 13 and her Mum looked mortified.
This morning I too have my 6 month dental check-up at 10.. then I am dropping the boys off at their sisters at 11.30 for the rest of the day as she has a day off.So I too will have the afternoon off to catch-up on some housework .
NSD though as I am eating my way through the fresh stuff as we are all off on our holibobs next week.
Hope you all have a good day and TTFTM you get your equalibriam back :):):)
    Cheers chums

    Morning everyone

Birthday wishes to those celebrating a birthday, hope you have a great day x

Hugs and get well wishes to those that want/need them.

Light cloud with sun trying to peek through. Greenhouse watered. Load in WM that I'll put on the line when I get back.

DH up and gone to work stupid early, he is going to pick DS1 up on his way past in a while.

Dinner last night was lamb casserole, mash and veg, ice creams/twinks for those that wanted them for dessert. Tonight we’re having bacon, sausage, mushrooms, egg, hash browns, beans and tomatoes, with either bread/butter or toast – not all that healthy – but most of it is grilled, and I need to use up lots of odds and ends.

Work was not so busy yesterday, so I was able to get finished at a reasonable time. Went to my nail appointment afterwards, then got home and did the normal jobs I needed to do.

I’ve been told there’s another money off coupon in the newspaper today for £10 fruit and veg for £5 at MrM – will be going over the shop to buy a paper shortly.

This morning I have a check up at the dentist – I have the first appointment so hoping I won’t be there too long as I have loads to do! Once I get back from the dentist and MrM – I will be cracking on with the ironing mountain as I want to get packed today – then I’ll do some housework and if I get time I’ll do some baking – some to take with us and some to leave here for DS1 to eat whilst we’re away.

Take care in the sun and warm weather, remember the sunscreen x

    Keep safe and well x

    Hi everyone,

an earlier start for me, I want to be on the road by 9.30 and I need to pack, although it's down to a fine art now and we have duplicate toiletries and so on in Yorkshire. We'll be there 4 days because we'll be celebrating our wedding anniversary there - 35 years on Monday and it feels like a fraction of that time. It's the coral anniversary so I told DH he should take me to the South Sea islands - unfortunately we haven't won the lottery yet so that's not happening.

    Have a good day.

  • Good Morning everyone, nice morning here cooler and slight cloud cover but forecast is for it to clear and then a fine but not too hot day in store for us.

Docky dog is better than he was but not 100% so we're looking at vetting him if he doesn't pick up soon. Housework and laundry day for me today as I'm off to DD for a week as of tomorrow morning and I like to leave He Who Knows with a clear house, it won't be like that when I get back though, what is it with men and housework??? My visit to to doctor for my medication review was fine and she's decided things are fine as they are so on a 6 months review now, so much better than monthly, and means we can get me some travel insurance for my trip to Berlin for the christmas markets in December, looking forward to that so very much as I love the city and the markets are magic, plus it nearly always snows so 'real' christmas that we don't often get here in the UK.

Hope all our poorlies are feeling better now and that you all have a nice day, Lyn xxx.

    Morning all
Hubby's been dropped at work, my room's not accessible so no point me going in, there are some boxes need unpacking for another department but I'm not going to do that unless they insist as I'm not really up to humping boxes around.
Snoozer, the fabric arrived & it's beautiful, thank you so much, enjoy your anniversary celebrations.
I was expecting a visit from a friend this morning but her DD has been attacked, so she's taking care of her.
I'm spending time with one of the DGC today, not sure what we will do yet, y'day I spent time with DD & the twins, she is back down to a size 8 & the twins are 13 weeks old, they are very smiley & sociable, though Teddy is still very colicky & likes to sleep upright if possible, so he slept on my shoulder most of the day.
I'm hoping to fit in some more dressmaking today, not sure whether to cut out another dress or start sewing the one I've already cut out.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.

Glad you like it Hester - it's not jersey though so I hope you can find something to do with it.
