hi, me, my mum and my 4 yr old son hope to have a dream holiday next year as we both have milestone birthdays, but my mum is partially disabled she can only walk very short distances, although she does have a mobility scooter, we arent really beach or sit by the swimming pool people but of course I have to think of my son as well! we'd like some guaranteed sun, anybody got any recommendations? thanks

Canaries are pretty flat, and you can hire a scooter over there to save taking yours, as well as other mobility aids (the large islands of Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura have that anyway).
Tenerife is probably the most lively, and its around 4 1/2 hours from the UK.0 -
Much of central Barcelona is pedestrianised and it also has beaches and a great aquarium to visit.0

“Daylad” can you tell us that from where you belong and in what country or state you want to travel than I can easily suggest you a good place for holiday. I belong to united state and if you are interested to visit here than most welcome. I can help you and provide you good destinations.0

Barcelona is good and has improved a lot in the past few years for accessibility, but if you're using a mobility scooter it might take some planning in advance to get to certain places like Park Güell, which is on top of a hill for example where the usual route uses escalators to reach. Some of the streets in the centre can be very narrow too.0

We've just got back from Calad'or in majorca. I was looking out for disabled friendly for my daughter and was impressed with accessibility. Most flights of steps had a ramp next to them. It also seemed very good for the younger children. It is however a beach / pool / eating out destination.0

There's a forum on Trip Advisor called 'Travelling with Disabilities'. You'll get a lot of good advice on there, and answers to questions you'd not even considered about travelling with disabilities.0

Try a cruise ship. They are very disabled friendly and you can use mobility scooters. The family-friendly ones have kids' clubs too. A good bet for first timers is P&O.:dance:We're gonna be alright, dancin' on a Saturday night:dance:0
