When should we approach a mortgage broker?

Hello all,
Still saving our deposit - will have the full amount by November, plus that's when my husband would have been in his contract for 12 months and will be renewed for another 6 months at least.
I don't know when will be the best time to contact a broker?
Shall we wait nearer the time to approach a mortgage broker or enquire now?
I've got 2 unused credit cards I want to close before having any type of checks done.
Many thanks

No harm speaking to one sooner rather than later. I'd look for a specialist broker fairly quickly so that you at least know where you stand when it comes to looking at property.I am a mortgage adviser. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
