PPI reclaim advice needed part time employment

Hello, my mum took out a Barclaycard in 2001, in 2008 I noticed she was paying PPI, So we cancelled it for her that day as it was not something my mum needed at the time. We contacted Barclaycard in 2012 and attempted to reclaim this, on the grounds that my mum was not aware she had this and was possibly mis-sold.
Barclaycard stated that my mum was not mis-sold this and that she agreed to take out PPI at the time of her credit card application.
We then took my mum's case to the ombudsmen, who advised us that they think Barclaycard should uphold my mum's claim. We supplied all info they requested including job details, sick pay etc, which my mum would have been entitled to.
Almost 2 years later we have finally had a letter off the ombusdman to say that Barclaycard have provided them with a copy of my mum's application form which clearly states the PPI box has been ticked to accept ppi, my mum's signature is further down. They have now said that this is sufficient to say my man accepted this at the time.
Needless to say my mum can not remember having the ppi conversation, ticking the box etc. Wjos to say this was mot ticked by the advisor after my mum signed?!
I now have a copy off this application form and have noticed that my mum's employment details clearly state her place of work and her annual income of under £3500... Which suggests to me, my mum was working part time at the time of application. My mum can not remember exactly how many hours she was working but I've worked out that as a cleaner on min wage in 2001 she would have been working less than 16 hours a week if her annual income was less than stated above... Is this an exemption of PPI with Barclaycard? If so do you think I should point this out to the ombudsmen? Or has their decision been made on the grounds of the ticked ppi box?
Any advice is greatly appreciated

Basically your complaint is over.
Your Mum cannot remember, the amount of money she earned is not proof she was working less (or more) than sixteen hours a week and the Bank have provided signed evidence that she agreed to the insurance. In addition, there is absolutely no point in making unsubstantiated accusations that the advisor ticked the box after your mother signed the document.
Time to move on, you gave it your best shot already.0
