Boiler vokera excell 80sp-no hot water

My boiler is a Boiler vokera excell 80sp.
When I turn on a hot tap I get hot water for 10/20 seconds before the boiler cuts out.
Turning the tap off and on again does not mean the boiler fires up for another 20 seconds- I can just get cold water.

I have just tried the heating and it does exactly the same.

Any ideas? Jim.

Could be one of a number of things, but probably diaphragm in valve body which pushes arm to push switch to fire boiler when you turn on tap. This ages & splits. It's not a dear part but you have to take the entire "wet" valve body apart to change it! Not for the feint hearted!

I persevered with my Excel 80sp for 8 years before I replaced it last year.

Look on the Vokera website, they used to offer a fixed price repair scheme for about £80, I think.

I've tested the diaphragm, the arm is pushed out and I can't pull it out any further. The arm stays out after the water has gone cold.

I thought I would provided a follow up if anyone else ever has the same problem-

It was the diaphragm after all. Lovely bloke came and sorted it all out for £105.
