can anyone help!! My car was having it's MOT and my mechanic lent me his car. I parked in Iceland, which is ANPR. I paid for 2hrs (£2.00)
but I keyed in my own number plate without thinking. I was only there for 45 mins so didn't over stay time limit. My mechanic got the letter (being the owner), then named me as the driver. Luckily I kept the ticket, so sent a nice letter back explaining my mistake and also sent a copy of my log book and MOT, and ticket. Excel replied saying "as a gesture of good will they would revoke the PCN charge to a cancellation fee of £10 providing payment is made before 22.7.14." I wrote back saying "there was no loss to the land owner as I had paid the £2.00, all I did was key in the wrong reg number, so will not pay £10 cancellation fee". I then got quite a rude letter back advising me to read the transcript of - Parking Eye v Kevin Shelley (2013), and also details of how to appeal with POPLA. The appeal with POPLA are 4 tick-boxes and none of them apply to my circumstances. I phoned POPLA and they suggested I go to citizens advice or seek legal advice. They're now applying the full charge of £60 to be paid by 14.8.14 or £100 after that.
Any thoughts on this??

Unfortunately not. All the other threads on this forum are NOT about parking and how to avoid.
The "NEWBIES - read this first" thread at the top of the forum is for other people, not you.
Try taking 5 minutes of your own time to read a few threads and the Newbies thread and then come back with some basic knowledge and I and others will help you, but just look at how many threads there are current today alone. If we have to go to square minus 10 for everybody, we would drown.
Sorry if this sounds harsh, but come back a bit clued up and get oiur help.0
