Credit Card Eligibility Checker Problem

Hi everyone

I used MoneySavingExpert Credit Card Eligibility Checker every time I tried I received below error :
((Unfortunately, we have not been able to find your details at the Credit Bureau. Please check and try again.))

What does it mean ?!

I opened account in Experian.co.uk and I have 791 fair Credit Score.

Thanks

    The MSE checker uses callcredit.

Are you on the electoral roll? Did you enter your address in exactly the same format as you use for any credit accounts? and the same way the council write it for electoral roll purposes.

Yes, I wrote exactly same address. I move from Wolverhampton to Birmingham recently and I did not reg electoral roll for new address.

is this the only reason MSE unable to find me ?! does it make any difference that I use which service for credit report ?!

It may be that if you got a copy of your callcredit file (free from noddle) and gave both your addresses when doing that, that if you then try to get the MSE checker it may then find you (it may not but I would give it a try).

I tried to register in noddle and I received below message !!!!

What should I do now ?!

Sorry, we haven’t been able to verify and validate your identity and can’t provide your credit report.

We’re sorry but unfortunately we’re not able to provide you with access to your credit report as we’ve not been able to automatically verify and validate your identity. As your credit report contains such personal and important financial information we need to make sure that we only make it available to the right person.

We're unable to tell you the exact reason that we couldn’t verify your identity but some of the most common reasons are a recent house move or name change, not being on the Electoral Roll or that the credit card details provided couldn’t be verified, this could be due to the card being relatively new.

We regularly make updates to our processes and we hope that this will allow more people to be automatically matched so please do come back and try again.

As Beanie says once you are on the electoral roll then you should be able to order it.

The alternative in the meantime would be to order a postal copy of your statuory report from callcredit. Although that said I expect it will show very little on your file, and so the MSE checker probably wouldn't end up being a very good indicator as to whether you would likely be accepted for various products.

  • Hi all, I'm getting the same error message as of the last couple months, using the same details and address I used to use many times successfully. I'm on the electoral roll, I have a Noddle account.

Mayyyybe I was moved from Lloyds TSB to TSB in the meantime? That's the only change I can think of. Tried selecting both TSB and Lloyds, same result.

Any advice welcome, so frustrating not being able to use this great tool!

    Cheers all
