1. If summons is from the council, then unless you have good grounds not to , pay up or the fine will get bigger.
2. If they issue you a ticket to park you could be deemed to be entering into a contract so again I'd consider paying.
3. If Parking Eye and the likes send you a letter in the post simple just ignore it , do NOT write, e mail, or contact them at all.
They will write again , however tempting do NOT contact them.
The third time you will get a threatening letter court etc etc . You MUST IGNORE this.
If you do this you will not hear from them again. Why? because you are costing them money to write to, and they do not know for definite the info from the DVLA is not out of date. They will cut their losses and go for those that they know exist, as they have acknowledged their letters.
I've done this many times and never hear from them after 3 letters, sometimes they give up after only two! IGNORE IT AND IT WILL GO AWAY!:D

You are barking mad of you think this will work especially with a parking eye who have taken thousands of motorists to court in the last year.
To any newbie who knows nothing. Well, here's a bit of information for you on the ParkingEye/Court front:

Try explaining your strategy to the 8,000+ people served with court papers over the past 12 months by PE - as detailed in the two FOI documents above (and which we firmly believe are significantly understated). Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Absolute rubbish on every point ( not that point 2 makes any sense anyway ).
NEWBIES - Ignore all of this advice and NEVER ignore a private parking invoice - especially from Parking Eye who take lots of people to court.
Quite how this poster has missed the sticky and ALL the advice on this forum is a mystery.
Oh - always appeal council tickets as well but with help from pepipoo.com"The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0 -
If you should ignore anything it is that fool.
NEVER IGNORE these Private Parking tickets (unless in Scotland or Northern Ireland). POFA gives rights for them to persue the Registered Keeper - there's no hiding.
Brad is either seriously misinformed or purposely leading people up the wrong path, the regulars on this board would never condone ignoring ParkingEye (or any of the others for that matter) - they do take court cases. ALWAYS best to stop them in their tracks at POPLA (and cost them more than the of price of few stamps).
They may appear to 'go away' but they have 6 years to start a small claim at court.0 -
I am wondering if the original OP has had his account hacked as although a history of posts , he has not posted at all for the last few years.

Going by the past posts made by the OP, he's been busy surfing the web and watching telly for the past few years. Could explain why POFA has passed him by.

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0
