Lanzarote hotel - all inclusive

Hi, I am looking to go to Lanzarote next month and was just wondering if anyone has stayed in the Costa Calero Hotel and Dream Gran Castillo Resort?
I'm unsure which to book - ideally we just want to laze around the pool, eat and drink so location-wise we don't mind if there's nothing around us!
I did want to stay at H10 Timanfaya Palace but it's fully booked.
Thanks!

Costa Calero is in the middle of nowhere, and the entertainment is very hit and miss - there is literally NOTHING there apart from 4 hotels.
Haven't been to the Dream Gran Castillo resort, so can't comment.
If you're looking for a standard resort with places to eat and drink, either Playa Blanca (most are AI) or Puerto Del Carmen (good self catering). Avoid Costa Teguise.0 -
Puerto del Carmen can be quite lairy.0

Hipotel la geria ? At los pocillos near puerto del Carmen0

There's a great thread on Playa Blanca I'd recommend you take a look at. Haven't stayed at either of these but have wandered around Dream Gran Castillo and its very nice, its a little out of the way but close to some of the best beaches in the area (over the hill). What about considering the Marina Rubicon area ? Hotel Volcan or a bit close to town is the best hotel in the area Princessa Yaiza both are worth considering. The marina has some great places to eat and its a pleasant walk from either end of the resort.
Playa Blanca is a fairly quiet resort with some terrific eating places if you want to venture out of the hotel (which I'd strongly recommend), non of the hotel restaurants we tried are that great and the all inclusive approach in most hotels tends to be buffet style.Keep smiling,

i have stayed http://www.thomson.co.uk/destinations/europe/spain/lanzarote/playa-de-los-pocillos/hotels/clubhotel-riu-paraiso-lanzarote-resort.html 4 times now.
its on the outskirts of Puerto del Carmen and its All Inclusive.
Puerto Del Carmen is fine, livelier then the other resorts but when we were there last August i couldnt describe it as very busy0 -
Thanks for the advice everyone.
Like I said, I don't mind where abouts we go as long as we have a nice hotel :-)
Jhelum - is the food nice there? Path hotel looks lovely.0 -

we were pleased with the Riu Clubhotel Paraiso food. plenty of choice at the buffet and there are a la cartes also. good choice of snacks.
Seaside Los Jameos Playa also gets good reviews bit have not stayed there. http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g662290-d291320-Reviews-Seaside_Los_Jameos_Playa-Puerto_Del_Carmen_Lanzarote_Canary_Islands.html0
