New mortgage when pregnant

Hello

I wonder if anyone can help me. I am currently 30 weeks pregnant. I have spent two years and £3000 planning an extension which has now all fallen through as building quotes have been phenomenal and I'd never make the money back when selling (which I would need to do in the next year or so). I have a partner and an older teenage daughter and we are finding our present living conditions a real squeeze already, and that's before the baby's arrival! After I decided against the extension, I thought selling up and buying somewhere bigger would be our best option. I am the main earner and would have to apply for a bigger mortgage myself as my partner is building a business and his credit is not good. I spoke to my current mortgage lender today and was given the impression that as birth and mat leave were imminent, I would have problems increasing my mortgage. I get three months full pay and six months statutory. My partner will be helping to support me financially when I am off, and beyond, but any payments he will make to me cannot be taken into consideration when applying for my mortgage unless he makes a joint application, which he can't do. Now I feel completely trapped here. Our flat is way too small and I feel my only option for moving would be my assurance in writing from my employer that I will be returning to work after my three months full pay mat leave are up which I really don't want to have to do. Is there anyway around this?? Many thanks for any help and please excuse the long post!!

Find a different lender, or use a broker?

No way of saying what your prospects are, but there are lenders who will take your pre-leave salary, as long as you are going back to the same income.
