Fair 'warranty work' timescale

Hi
Newby here so go easy on me please..

I'm after a bit of advice on what would be deemed a fair time for warranty work.
I bought an adjustable seatpost for my bike last August from a company in Germany (they were the cheapest but still £300) and it is back with them for the 2nd time for a warranty repair. The 1st time it was away (Jan/Feb 2014) it took 4 weeks from when they received to when it was sent back.
This time it has been there since 8th July and there is still no sign of it coming back.
I was just wondering what the thoughts are on how long is deemed to be a fair time to do the work and, if 4 weeks is too long, what actions I should think about taking.
Thanks
Steve

The UK law talks about significant inconvenience, which isn't defined any further. If your bike is recreational, then you could probably go longer than 4 weeks without being it deemed as a significant inconvenience. However, if it's your main mode of transport, courts may deem a shorter timescale more appropriate.

However, as you bought from Germany, you are probably bound by German law and not UK law. It may be worth contacting the EU Consumer Centre and getting advice from them, as not many of the regular posters round here will be super savvy on German law.
