They were doing Packs of 6 Walkers Crisps 4 packs for £4. So of course bought them. Didn't check my receipt until I got home, and they charged me the retail price of £1.40 odds or whatever it they are, and the offer didn't kick in
I won't be back out that way until this Saturday/Sunday coming and know I can do nothing about it now. I'm so annoyed I didn't check my receipt like I always do as I'm going out the door:mad:chalkysoil wrote: »I was overcharged at Broadstairs tonight, and informed they don't do DTD as they had lost thousands though people doing it deliberately? I was deeply offended. Like I'd waste my time trailing to the CS desk for an extra .72p. There was no trace of the large poster they used to have advertising DTD either. I'm still miffed 2 hours later and not inclined to go there again.
If you've been overcharged, you should have DTD, but whether or not the CS staff want to give it to you is another matter. Do the online chat with customer services or give them a call and say you were overcharged but not given DTD and they will normally send out a gift card for that amount, and maybe a little extra if you point out how embarrassed you were at the till by the CS staff refusing to follow T's own rules.0 -
I just did an online chat - a page of it, the writer said
"I am sorry to hear this and I would like to advise you that we do still offer our customers double the difference when a customer has been overcharged.
and I am sorry and this will indeed be addressed with by his manager. To say sorry I would like to send you out a £5.00 Tesco Moneycard. . "
This is very kind of them but doesn't really reverse the feeling of being thought of as a scammer. My husband was with me at the time and was stewing all the way home due to the waste of time attending customer services desk and the implication of being low life. If he is overcharged he never goes to the desk!0 -

I didn't realised I'd been overcharged until I got home. Which is why I made a blue. I ALWAYS check my receipt before leaving the store, for some unknown silly reason I have no idea why I didn't on Saturday. I'm not back on until Sunday again so I missed out on DTD.
I'll be making sure I don't again though lolPay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%0 -
This is the first I've heard of DTD. There are no signs anywhere in our local branch to tell customers about it, so how do you all know? Is it something that Tesco used to do and are now phasing out?0

<hic> Just finishing off the last of ten bottles of Leffe I got for 61p each a couple of weeks ago.Like I'd waste my time trailing to the CS desk for an extra .72p.0

some Tesco have a big poster behind the C/s desk, the refurbished ones probably don't. Anyway it isn't phased out yet.
I was probably victim of some local management target.0 -
same old same old in Tesco Dover - was informed they only give dtd on "human error". So being overcharged £2 odd because the yellow sticker wasn't covering the barcode is not human??
CS eventually relented reluctantly and informed me her till would be short. Husband was again mortified and felt like a low life listening to me asking for dtd. Leaves a feeling of grey inadequacy having to queue up to be mildly insulted. grrr.0 -
advice for dtd having recently realized about this i walked into tesco yesterday with specific intent of finding overpriced goods ideally ones formerly on half price.
I went straight to the electrics section and after finding some headphones marked half price with out of date sel. googled them and found the price is now double. woop woop got my dtd refund.
however my question is should i wait a few days before trying again. Do the management get awkward if they suspect your targeting them ?0 -

Yes they can get quite stroppy. Best to go to different stores if you can. Also try to see who is on CS desk when you go in and of same assistant as last time leave it.0
