How do you go about claiming DTD? do you just go though the till knowing its wrong then goto the customer services and get it?
Also whats to stop this being totally abused? i see the webcam made you £83 back, whats to stop you buying 10 in one go? (if you can aford the upfront £500 for the misprice) then getting 830 back
and how far can you take the mick, once claiming your £83 DTD can you then request the refund on the item?

So far as I know, yes, you just go through the till knowing it's wrong and then take it to customer services afterwards. There's nothing in place to stop it being abused in the way you mentioned, though I'm not sure what the policy is on taking the item back.0 -

Normally they write 'DTD' or similar on the receipt, which would make things pretty awkward if you then tried to use it to get a refund at a later date.
In terms of taking the mick and buying loads, some customer services are reluctant to even give DTD in some cases (eg if they say you knew what you were doing when you 'overpaid' in the first place), so going overboard would be stupid as you're not guaranteed to get it back. Also it makes it far more likely that they'll stop offering DTD at all.0 -
Well I made a blue in my shopping on Saturday and I'm raging.
They were doing Packs of 6 Walkers Crisps 4 packs for £4. So of course bought them. Didn't check my receipt until I got home, and they charged me the retail price of £1.40 odds or whatever it they are, and the offer didn't kick in
I won't be back out that way until this Saturday/Sunday coming and know I can do nothing about it now. I'm so annoyed I didn't check my receipt like I always do as I'm going out the door:mad:
As for some posts on here recently - No Offence but there are some people who are just looking to make easy money and taking the mick! A bl**dy disgrace IMO:mad:
Can't for the life of me understand why people would expect a refund on mis-priced items ASWELL as double the difference:eek: I mean SERIOUSLY???
Or who in god's name will be buying 10/50 or whatever cameras at once??
Some people are just really greedy and are just out to spoil GENUINE people's luck on DTD.Pay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%0 -

Sorry but I will disagree with you.
Tesco stuff just don't give a monkey about their mistakes.
Not oce or twice I went to customer service to report the overcharge and claim DTD and guess what - next day - the mistake wasn't corrected - every single time.
They cannot be bothered to change the price or take out the one which is wrong.
So because of that - I think the others still might have a chance to get items and claim DTD. And its beter if people going to earn these few quid which they took off the people who weren't aware that they have been overcharged. I bet every single one of us has been ripped off this way and sometimes couldn't do nothing about it! That's why I'm claiming DTD everytime I cought their mistake. Plus many times sales assistant gone to the shelf to check - and swap the prices - and then insisted that I'm blind because there is a correct price on the shelf. Then I started taking pictures, calling the manager and asking him to view the cameras because assistant change the price and taking a p... Far too many times they done that - and I don't like to be fooled around, so I decalred a war with them:D Every missprice won't go without my intervention. I didn't started that - they did:rotfl:0 -
I was overcharged at Broadstairs tonight, and informed they don't do DTD as they had lost thousands though people doing it deliberately? I was deeply offended. Like I'd waste my time trailing to the CS desk for an extra .72p. There was no trace of the large poster they used to have advertising DTD either. I'm still miffed 2 hours later and not inclined to go there again.0

Either you've read my post wrong or I wasn't very clear:o
I'm not saying anything at all about the DTD. If it's for people who genuinely were charged more than they should have.......... like I was on Saturday, and have been twice before.
What I have a problem with is people expecting DTD, a refund on the item and KEEPING The item aswell.
What I also have a problem with is people who want double the difference, then a refund also. Or obvious situations where someone apparently needs 10 cameras and take them all to CS for DTD in price.
Yes I agree with people who have been genuinely charged and have caught on to that fact. What I don't agree with, and I think is a disgrace is people purposely going out to do it and ripping the !!!! out of it basically.
Keep it up and we'll all be left up the creek without a paddle and having to take the mis-prices and lump it as they'll stop the DTD scheme.Pay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%0 -

Looks like they have stopped it at Broadstairs Kent already.0 -
Individual stores cannot change a Tesco policy DTD is National but a lot cs assistants are not too keen on you having it you would think it comes out of their own pockets.0
-
I asked the chap to sign his name on the receipt as he was quite sure Broadstairs had stopped it. Maybe I'll email Tesco HQ tomorrow.0

My local has a stack of files permanently hiding the bottom of the poster. I've had a few good dtds out of them, there is one CS woman who rolls her eyes when she sees me coming now! I am sure that all dtd claimed will be far outweighed by others being overcharged and not noticing or bothering to queue at CS for a refund.Blessed are the vegetarians.0
