Can searches be removed from credit score ?

Hi,
Ive had a company called 1st locate search my credit report on behalf of LCS, they claim I owe money on behalf of EDF from a previous address, when I spoke to EDF about this they claim that my account at that time was closed before the supposed LCS debt was made leaving a balance of £0.00, I relayed this to LCS in writing and posted this to them with an email from EDF confirming the account closure and zero balance, LCS have ignored this information and are still hassling me for money so my solicitor is now dealing with all correspondence with them and EDF.
Is there anyway I can remove this search from my credit score as It has effected my score ? what do I do next ?

Debt collection searches are normally only seen by you so would not affect any score the CRAs or creditors might calculate.

You don't have a credit score so next I recommend you to stop worrying about things in relation to "your score".

What type of search is recorded on your credit file for this?
  • Hi,
Thank you for your replies, the search was a unrecorded enquiry .

Well definitely no impact on your score (as per my comment above) and definitely no impact on how lenders will assess you for credit in the next year.
  • Thanks for your help, much appreciated.
