I see Ann Robinson was back on BBC Breakfast news this morning imploring people to switch supplier again to lower their tariffs by £200. Just phoning up their supplier and changing tariff from Standard Variable ( or BGs Fix and Fall ) to a years fix with direct debit achieves the same result but without making Uswitch £60 better off.
I have heard that the suppliers have been ordered by Ofgem to make their customers aware of the big savings by post by switching tariff with their existing supplier. So far I have`nt met anyone who has received this letter. I think the BBCs Ann Robinson would be a better proposition than a slightly drunk sounding Uswitch Ann Robinson. She would certainly get complaining about British Gas at least.

To be fair, Eon have started printing on their bills "you could be better off by £xx if you switch to xyz tariff", however, they were still more expensive than some of their competition, so still pays to shop around.0

Supplier Cheapest Deal messaging came into force in March this year. Its not a separate mail it should appear on the front page of every Bill, Annual Statement and Product Closure or Price Increase Letter. I seriously doubt any of the big 6 are not doing this as it would be a breach of license conditions.
You can see an example of EDFs new look bills etc. here:
