Can I claim and what can I claim?

Hey,

I got a credit card from Lloyds TSB when I was 18 to put my holiday on, for insurance purposes, I have just found a letter from when I got that credit card out explaining my Payment Protection Cover...Is this the same as PPI?

Also, I've had my debit card with Lloyds for as long as I can remember and I was kinda pressured by a guy when I was young to get a silver account...I didn't want it but I kind of felt like I had no choice, again, I was only about 18, this was all back in 2009/2010 and I was wondering if anyone knew if I could claim any of this back?

Any advice would be great,

Thanks guys :)

A debit card is a piece of plastic. You cant claim a piece of plastic back. If you didnt want it then you put it in your wallet and leave it there or you cut it up. Its a non-cost option.

If you want to claim back your bank account fees post in the banking forum or just write and complain to the bank and list your reasons for complaint (e.g. not using services). It could be you needed to get a silver account if, say, you wanted an overdraft in which case it may not be mis-sold - no harm in trying though

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Correct, but Lloyds "silver Account" attracted a monthly fee. It's this fee which the OP is hoping to have refunded to him.
