    I think you have to appreciate the banter and competitive/challenging nature associated with national sporting events, and realise that it doesn't mean much more than that to most Scots.

    As a sporting anthem I think it's fine. I don't read anything more into it.

    Your parents probably knew how sensible, intelligent and responsible you all were though and wanted to encourage that even more by allowing you even more responsibility.
