If you have less that 6 months they may well not let you fly although if you go under 6 months while away you will be ok.

You can renew by fast-track service according to the official website. Special arrangements are in place for those travelling imminently due to the usual strikes and public sector inefficiency.

    Why post such rubbish

which airline wont let you fly to the USA with less than 6 months left

Anybody in any doubt can surely look quickly at the .gov.uk website mentioned above, which sweeps away all the anecdotes and mis-information in five minutes. Beats me why people post such misleading bull---t without themselves checking first.

You need to have at least 15 years left on your passport and be able to recite the entire National Anthem to be able to travel to the USA.

That's just rubbish Glenn. Last time I went to the US, I only knew the chorus and they still let me in.

I have just been to the US and my passport expires in November. Other than a comment reminding me at immigration I had no problem.

The 6 month rule applied in the pre-ESTA days.

Don't forget you would need a new Esta if you get a new passport however

You should really do your ESTA before booking flights etc in case you get refused for any reason (see multiple examples of this on here alone)

Persoanlly I would get your ESTA done and renew passport as soon as you get home next year
