Santander - Too Clever by Half

I've just encountered something interesting while opening a Santander 123 Current Account online. I filled in the application form (Title, Name, Address, e-mail, etc.) and soon received an acknowledgement. So far, so good.

Next I received an e-mail confirming their acceptance of my application. Except they changed my title. :(

Finally came a Welcome e-mail, but sent to a different e-mail address. :( Luckily I still monitor it. :)

It looks like their system goes back and checks if an applicant is a previous customer. Fair enough. But then it overwrites the new details with what it has stored from the past. Not so bright.

Anyway, I went in branch and a nice gentleman put things the way they should be. I'll check when I actually get online access.

The moral? Watch them every step of the way.
