Wren Kitchens installation quote - over the top??

£12,800... What price did they start off at?
I wouldn't worry so much about the breakdown between kitchen and fitting. Look at the total cost and compare it to quotes from other companies.
My mum had a Wren kitchen fitted recently and got them down to less than half of the price they started at.
Unfortunately the completion of the fit took five months because they had a supply problem with the cupboard doors. Categorically would not recommend them.
Mum got her kitchen for £3k less than the next nearest quote, but after the time and stress she's had she's not sure it was worth the saving.0 -
That is a silly amount even in London
I was billed 5k from one of my london fitters, and that included.......
kitchen removal, supporting the floor (suspended) plastering the whole room and ceiling (not small) floor tiling (23ish sq mtrs) all electrics, moving rads, downlights, kitchen fit, 2 x new windows and painting and dec. a complete room transformation
That sounds very reasonable to me for London...
How much did you charge the customer though? Or do you choose not to make a margin on fits? Big companies don't run fitting as a service, they look to make money out of it too, and the margin has to cover potential warranty claims as well. If they are any good, they take the warranty part seriously....not sure whether Wren do or not.....
You pay more for a big company backed fit, but you should have comeback, that is why people a prepared to pay the extra. When people dont get the comeback...the company end up on Watchdog or the like...it's big news and bad news for the company concerned.
Still agree that given all that, in this particular instance it looks high to me...0
