New Skoda Fabia
I'll be after a new (probably ex demo or v low mileage) in the next little while. Done some research and think the Skoda Fabia will suit my needs. What I'm wondering about is whether it is worth waiting for the new Fabia, if I get that option and my current car lasts of course. Having looked around online facts seem to be sparse and was wondering if hanging on will be any advantage to me.
From what I've read the 2015 model will be in UK showrooms early next year.
Apparently the 'platform' will be a completely re-engineered version (whatever that might mean). Is this likely to be quality improvements or will it be like buying technologies that are untested?
Let me say I'm not fussed with looks and re-sale based on this won't be a consideration since I plan on keeping it. Also not interested in the infotainment stuff (a radio will do nicely). As you can tell I'm not a petrolhead, just looking for a solid reliable and long-lasting car.
Thanks for any opinions.

So an end of line model would be ideal as long as you get the right discount. Wait until the new model is launched and they'll be heavily discounting and pre-reg'ing the old model to clear the stock.
Fabia uses a tried and tested (i.e. old) VW Polo platform, so no major issues. The rapid depreciation will not be an issue for you.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
As macman says they are on a vw platform so I expect a new fabia will look pretty much like the new vw polo.0

I too would wait, not only because new models fetches down the price of the last model, but you may get a fully loaded bells and whistles ex demo car at a good price also.0

get onto https://www.Briskoda.net
the fabia forums will give you more info than you ever needee to know.

I would start hunting and pricing now so you know a deal when you see one.0 -
Thanks for the replies, useful. I've been keeping my eyes on the price trends and there are already some decent offers, will keep an eye on that.
Must say, though I've never been bothered about looks and shapes I do like the new artist impression of the 2015 Fabia, looks like the current Ibiza.
I've been trying to figure out the difference/advantages of the 1.2 TSI SE (which I think is a fair bit off) vs the 12V 60 S which are both on offer at my local dealer at less than 10k so Briskoda might be a good place to ask.
Cheers
