Obviously something happened between you and your then GF.
Had you been the lead passenger and your GF had refused to pay the balance of the deposit then you as the lead passenger would be liable for the whole deposit eg £150 low deposit plus £100. In this case it's your ex's mother you left out of pocket by refusing to pay the rest of the deposit. Whether you got dumped because you embarrassed your GF by putting her in a difficult situation with her Mum or if your stubbornness in refusing to pay the balance of deposit or something else is irrelevant.
You agreed to a holiday and have then backed out /refused to pay your share leaving people out of pocket......no wonder they are !!!!!! off with you. Your hurt pride at getting dumped is preventing you seeing the logic in this.
You feel hard done by....but so do they as you've left them as a family out of pocket.
Look up the First Choice booking conditions and you'll see that if a holiday is booked with a low cst deposit (usually £150 pp) then the balance of the deposit is due a bit later ....and from what you say this is what you were asked for. Maybe your GF didn't explain it properly to you before you booked, maybe if you refused point blank to pay more not realizing it was a normal payment and didn't make any suggestion like paying half now and the rest next payday they felt YOU were the unreasonable one.
All this about wanting proof and how you weren't ever booked on the holiday sounds like paranoid nonsense. No wonder they are angry with you.
Let it go and move on. Maybe they should have explained better what was due and when but maybe you should have also checked exactly what you were agreeing to so sounds like everyone is somewhat at fault.
If a boyfriend accused me or my family of ripping them off when the reality was he was leaving us out of pocket.......I'd be dumping him too as it would show he didn't trust me and without trust a relationship has nothing.some people have slagged off your GF but looking at things logically this sounds more like a misunderstanding that has got completely out of hand.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
Sounds like you have luckily missed out on what would have been a holiday from hell! where you may easily have been treated like an outcast for the time away, over the slightest of holiday fall outs..
Seems to have been a very cheap way of getting the ex gf to show her true colours in this matter. If it is a Measly £150 then just write it off..0 -
Time to move onNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

OP id just chalk it up to experience and walk away. If you were on the booking they will now have to stump up your share for the balance, or pay to take you off the booking (could also mean they are now under occupancy, so get charged more for room).
How much was the total cost of the holiday, and when were you supposed to be going away?0 -
Sounds like they should have taken the rest of the holiday money THEN dumped you anyway, so you got off lightly. If that's the mother, I hate to imagine what the daughter is like.. Choose better next time
Personally I'd not try again, just walk away with what dignity you have left!0 -
Unfortunately It doesn't look like that's a route I can take as this is the response I've most recently got:

I hope she was as dirty as her mouth is...0
