Apologies if this shouldn't be a new thread, mods feel free to move if so.
I recently moved into a new flat with a mate who'd been there for a while, he had a permit for a space and as the street parking is awful he sent an email to the owners of the flat complex about an extra one for me. There's tonnes of spaces so we didn't think this would be an issue, however, they've been bad in responding. Whilst we waited we photocopied the one permit we had between us and stuck it in my window, next day receive a ticket from UKPC!
Now I know we took the Micky a bit and if you guys think I should pay then maybe I will, but £100 seems a bit steep for what it was. The car park is barely 50% full at anytime.
I don't think ignoring is a good idea but if I write what should I say?
Btw I moved the car immediately and have stuck to street parking since.

You are unlikely to get an extra permit from the "owners", you need to contact the management company. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

My bad, that's what I meant. The owner of the flat is my mate I live with.0

Read the newbie thread and send in appeal as per the instructions. However make sure you wait for notice to keeper first. With only the smallest amount of luck you will not have to pay a penny. And the luck by the way was finding this forum before you paid a bean.
In the meanwhile a few snaps of the parking signs would be of use. Including the one on entry into parking area.
Which PPC is it by the way?Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. It was UK Parking Control (UKPC). Will get a snap up here if I can, the signs are prominent unfortunately. Thanks for the advice so far.0

As far as I am aware, UKPC have never taken anyone to court. However they have been taken to court themselves

The signs may be prominent. It doesn't make them compliant!Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking.
