Can my partner collect keys on completion without me?

Hi everyone,
We are FTB and (hopefully) nearing exchange and completion. Our seller is keen to do this on the same day.
A slight issue is that I am going away for two weeks with work later this month.
Does anyone know whether it will be possible for my partner to collect the keys from the solicitor without me being present, on the condition that I have signed all paper work and contacts before I go away?
How is the best way to approach my solicitor about this?
Thanks in advance

I don't think people tend to care who picks up the keys, and certainly one half of the buying couple will be fine.0

Yes - it won't be a problem. Normally the keys are left with the estate agents not the solicitor.0

I picked up the keys to our house from the EA by myself as my partner was at work, didn't even ask for ID, I turned up and said which house it was and they gave them to me :-) I guess it was unlikely anyone else would know to go in and ask for the keys to that exact house to be fair!0

My other half picked up the keys for our house from the EA without me being there. I cant even remember there being any signing to do when she did.0

I don't think I've ever signed any paperwork on completion day, and as long as the EA knows who you are I imagine they'll simply hand over the keys (tell your OH to make sure all the keys and copies that are expected are in fact there).0

It doesn't take two people to pick up a set of keys. My husband collected ours while I lurked around the gate of the new house with my removal people.0

Do I have to leave the keys (plural) with the EA. They already have a front door key from when they were conducting viewings. Can't I just leave the rest in the house?0
