I'm not sure on this one - initial searches have this one in Germany as biggest, and they seem to think they are http://www.miniatur-wunderland.com/

But Northlandz in New Jersey has the quote "He said the attraction is recognized by Guinness World Records as the biggest of its kind on the planet." Article is from 2013, but it is a Daily Mail article so don't know how far it could be trusted really! Plus Guinness doesn't seem to have a result for model railways at all... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2354421/Worlds-largest-model-railroad-draws-thousands-NJ.html
  • I'm not sure if this would be right as it asks for the biggest but Guiness have a record for the longest one. - I can't post links yet but this is what it says on the website

    "
The longest model train measured 282.11 m (925 ft 6 in) and was made up of 31 locomotives and 1,563 carriages. It was constructed by the Wilmington Railroad Museum Model Railroad Committee (USA) and was presented and measured in Wilmington, North Carolina, USA, on 23 April 2011
The scale of the train was 1:87.1 (H0). The scale length of the train is 24.571 km (15.27 miles)."

This seems to show that the Wilmington Model Railroad Museum has now overtaken the previous Guinness record set by Germany. (As outlined in the previous post by PrincessDeeJayxo).

The Wilmongton Model Railroad Museum is located at 505 NUTT STREET - WILMINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA 28401

Therefore, answer is: North Carolina, USA (or just USA)
