Closing account after 2 months

Hello

I switched my account to first direct from TSB because they were offering £125 switching bonus. However I have now been offered a job aboard and wondering can I close the account after opening it only 2 months ago? Will i have to give the switching bonus back?

Thanks

    Aboard what? :)

Seriously, why close it? Use it as a donor account when you next switch for an incentive.

Leave £1 in it in case you need it as a donor account.
If you do decide ot close it completely, you do not have to return the dosh

Unless one meets conditions for exemption, such as by having £1 in an Everyday eSaver Account, there is a monthly fee of £10 to pay for having the account.

    Switch it to M&S Bank.

You'll get practically the same account (as it is also run by HSBC ) plus £100 worth of M&S gift vouchers.

Their overseas ATM charges are lower too at 2.75% of the amount withdrawn with no minimum.
