  • Hi

Can anyone suggest somewhere I can buy cupboard doors for my kitchen? Want to re-vamp it on a budget.

I've been flicking through the ikea book, but can't see prices for door fronts only so they may have let me down.

    Many Thanks

We revamped our 8yr old kitchen carcasses last year with doors from Ikea, and they are brilliant. Cost us about £250 for 12 doors plus handles, and then we added some extra cabinets, drawers and shelvin for another £210. The kitchen looks great. We put in new worktops, tiles and flooring, plus my must-have cerasmic butlers sink and taps, and the whole job came in under £900. I love Ikea, and would definitely recommend their kitchens, wardrobes, and dining tables & chairs. Go on the website, all the door prices are on there. Good luck !!!

No Frills sells Wickes, Homebase and other makes old stock kitchen cupboards, eg tall larder cupboard at around £25. I refurbed my kitchen with them, and the biggest problem was getting rid of the carcases as the doors fitted straight on my existing cupboards.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

    I did this, B&Q had a 60% off sale.

    Few things i learned...

    1. check the new doors will match the top, bottom and sides of everything even insides where there may be space for cooker etc.

    2. Are any of the existing screws wobbly?? these holes will get looser when you remove and add the new doors. If wobbly you will have to use longer screws - is there room for this?

    3. you have to have a helper to take them off and add the new ones. Also learn how the adjustable hinges work and make sure you're using them correctly.

One of my doors does not hang very well and there isn't much I can do about it. Ifr you want a cheap and simple update i'd do painting as it's less risky

Thank you so much for resurecting a 4 year old post...
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands
