Renting Bed Linen

Hi all,

We've just booked a week long stay in a private villa in Corsica for 4 adults and have noticed that bed linen is not included, but can be rented from the owner at supplement.

I've been in email contact with the villa owner who says the cost of renting linen & towels for a week is €100. This seems pretty expensive to me so just wanted to gage other people's views.

Has anybody ever had to rent bed linen separately? Anybody taken their own? Is this the going price?!

For what it's worth, the linen includes:
bath towels,
hand towels,
face flannels,
tea towels,
bed sheets/pillow covers etc for 2 double beds

Greatly appreciate your views - I'm considering attempting to negotiate him down on price, but don't even know what price I should be aiming for...

A few years back I rented a house on the Outer Banks, North Carolina that did this. Most of the rentals there had the same deal - take your own linens or rent. Sorry but I can't remember the rental cost but I do remember thinking it was high. Anyway we took our oldest sheets and towels, used then during our stay, then on our last day we laundered them and left them there in case they were any use to another renter. So that gave us an empty suitcase to bring the spoils of our American shopping trips back in.:)

They probably phone up the local hotel laundry services and say "1 pack for week ......", so they don't then have to wash, dry, iron, fold, store them after you've gone, but simply toss them into a bag and the laundry collects and takes them away again.

I'd consider taking my own, vacuum packed down .... and see if the weight's worth it. And, as has been said above, you could just leave them there when you go. I'd expect them to bin them .... they'd not be used/handy for anybody else, but just binned or given to the local cats' home.
