you probably need to disable apps from auto-updating, as the tab will tend to check whenever it boots up.... it'll be somewhere in the play store settings..

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

    Charge the battery ,
    Factory reset at boot .
Fails then it needs a service centre .

    Model of tablet?
On Android tablets, there's a thing called a bootloader, and the bootloader menu MIGHT give you an option to safe boot or similar. This is usually done, from Off, by holding in the power, and the vol up OR vol down button, until some text appears on the screen. Google '[your tablet model] safe boot' for specific instructions.

Turned off, hold power and volume down buttons (around 10 secs) seems to be the trick for this one...

Take it to an Asus service centre this reads as damaged firmware or damaged hardware .
