56 day intreast free

it was my belief that i have got 56 days of not paying interest on new transactions on barcalycard well that is what it says on the back my statements. recently having had an increase. this morning i decided to check what my min payment only to find i am over the limit having put money on thinking it would cover what i was to be charged. assuming they where sticking to there word. then i also find i can not see what they have done and feel cheated and incrediably worried i am only young and have had a sole aim to better my credit score now i fear there mistake has ruined it. will they do anything it always seems to work in th other persons favour and im sick of it sorry if i make no sense im half asleep because i cant sleep cos im worried

I know you said you've realised what's happening now, so I shan't repeat previous advice - other than to say with most cards it's UP TO 56 days, depending on the date of the transaction and the date of your statement.

But to hopefully save you worrying to much - if you phone them up and explain, most of the big lenders can be quite amenable to "ignoring" just one error if it's been a genuine mistake / misunderstanding on your part, and will remove any bad markers they have placed on your credit history. There's nothing to lose apart from the cost of a phone call :)
  • thanks i will give them a ring hopefully they will
