What's wrong with the TSB? The 5% current account (not limited to one year like the Nationwide) is one of the best deals around.0

Hi
There is no simply answer to this one.
Halifax rewards current account give you a £5 each month just for paying two direct debits from the account. (think you have to pay in £750 a month)
Club Lloyds - You need to pay in £1500 per month, but they give you a free magazine each month or some cinema tickets. Plus they pay 1-4% interest depending on how much you have in the account.
Santander 123 current account - pays interest, gives you cash back on things like council tax, telephone, sky, gas etc provided they are paid by direct debit. Plus the account pays interest. You need to pay £500 per month into this one and there is a £2 monthly fee.
There are others. (I mean these are just 3)

Your question is incomplete - you should be asking what account(s) is/are best for your requirements. You might find that you should have more than one, if only to be prepared for problems such as the IT meltdown Natwest/RBS experienced a while ago.
If you post your requirements, people can suggest some options. If your total requirements are 'fancy a change', just about any full account will do. In the meantime, you could read this MSE article:

It is, if you care for in-credit interest. Which may or may not be what the OP fancies. May be they are after the best overdraft deal, or branch access near where they live, or some fancy looking debit card etc etc - - we don't really know what they are looking for.0 -
Low balance, never overdrawn, crediting over £750 a month and two or more direct debits? Halifax Reward.
Bigger balances? See the link at the top of the page.0 -

I've found Santander branch staff quite friendly.Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..

I guess it depends on what your priorities are and the services you prefer. I switched from Natwest to FD, but after about a year moved back to NW having realised how much I prefer their mobile and internet banking. For me, FD were a bit stale. Maybe I just don't like change!
It seems the best thing to do with the current offerings is to have a number of accounts, splitting DDs between them. I use Natwest as main (wages), then Halifax reward to pay DDs (so £5 per month) and so far this works well for me.0 -
There is no one best bank, whatever the ads may suggest. Everyone is different, with different needs/requirements. Once you've identified what you need members may be able to advise you better.
I'd suggest ignoring anyone advising you without this information, no matter how good their intention.0
