CLC world

I have just received a letter from these people inviting me to see them in London and in return I get £75 voucher and then free holiday accommodation worth up to £1000 to thank me for my time ! Wow what extremely generous people they must be !
It is obviously a timeshare scam or whatever variant of timeshare they are trying to disguise it as. I really hope receiving this letter doesn't mean I've made it onto their sucker list. I can do without the hassle of sales calls.
I thought timeshare salesmen were consigned to the 1980s and 1990s when I remember spending a week trying to dodge them in Tenerife !

CLC is Club La Costa, they have appeared here and elsewhere many times, and of course it is timeshare but probably wrapped up as something else. They used to be based in East London as I recall, you are right to throw it in the bin, it is the cheapest way! Don't respond otherwise you will be bombarded, not only by letter but telephone calls as well

Generous people indeed, I'm just back from a week at the resort - upgraded upon arrival, free breakfast and only had to put up with a four hour presentation extolling the benefits of fractional ownership. All a cost of £99.00 and the over-use of the word 'No'. Can't wait for the two year exclusion period to expire before I can go again.
Didn't listen too much to their presentation but main gist of it was that for twenty grand (plus 18% interest on their finance scheme), plus annual maintenance of £800 for twenty years (though not capped), plus refurb costs I could enjoy two weeks holiday a year for that period. Still kicking myself I didn't sign.

We stayed at CLC Sunningdale Village in Tenerife last year. Booked online, the cost was about £650 for two weeks.

It was a very nice property but I can't for the life of me understand anyone buying a timeshare there when you can so easily get a low cost short term rental
