Done a Equifax search - lists past credit agreements

Evening all,

After having a CPP letter and receiving ~£700 back from MBNA I've done a Equifax search to list all my old agreements, to see if I'm likely to be 'due' anything else back.

I have had...
Egg card, taken out July 2003, closed April 2011
Capital One card, taken out Oct 2008, closed April 2010
HSBC loan, taken out Sept 2009, closed Sept 2011
HSBC loan, taken out Sept 2011, closed July 2013
HSBC card, taken out June 2008, closed Sept 2011
Due to a fire I don't have any documents, I know dates will be important for companies which have been taken over/sold on (such as Egg).

So... What should my next steps be to find out if PPI was applied and if I should apply for any refund (if mis-sold).

Any help greatly appreciated.

Rgds

Mike

Contact your lenders and ask them..
  • Contact your lenders and ask them..

I'm sure you're trying to be helpful rather than sarkey :P

The point of my query was surrounding companies such as Egg - who would the book be with now? etc

If you'd like to be helpful it would be appreciated.

As I said, contact the lenders and ask them. Google their addresses and contact details. Egg is now Canada Square Operations.

As money said, the easiest way to find your account details from each bank is to phone them and ask what info they still hold about you on their systems, dates, reference numbers, insurance policies etc

If the older accounts are not there, you can send a subject access request to receive whatever data the bank has stored about your closed accounts.

If ppi was included in any of these accounts and you decide to complain you will need to work out why the insurance policy was mis-sold e.g. single premium on a loan, is one reason a complaint might succeed. Although, many banks stopped selling it from 2009.

I think Egg cards are dealt with by Barclaycard, check the website for a complaint form and address.

What I've found can be useful when submitting a complaint is either your own bank statements showing direct debits to the business, or credit card statements as proof of payment, especially when you cannot locate the original credit agreements. However, all the products you mentioned in your post are quite recent, so there's a good chance you'll find what you need just from a phone call.

    Good luck

Egg are only dealt with by Barclaycard if the card became a Barclaycard.
