Redundancy

Hi theres a high possibility I'll be made redundant at the end of June. I wondered if anyone could give me advice on an insurance policy that is fairly good value & would cover credit cards aswell as a loan from the bank.

Too late.

If you are aware of the possibility of unemployment then you will not be insured. This is often enforced by not including unemployment cover in the first 6-12 months of the commencement of the policy.

Alliance and Leicester sent me some insurance product info a while ago. I called them to enquire about protecting my mortgage payments as there was a possibilty that I was going to be made redundant. They agreed to insure me but the policy had a "no redundancy claim in 1st 3 months" clause, which I think was standard. They said that provided I have not been notified of my impending redundancy then they could cover me.
