We put wrong number in PE machine

Hello. I don't know if our mistake is a regular occurrence, but in June 2013 we did not put our car reg number into a Parking Eye pay an display meter at a hotel car park, correctly. (No reading glasses with us). We are getting on a bit and have not replied to any of their letters because we had actually paid and left before our time was up, so we thought "that's alright then" but after reading your people's advice and having this last letter from DRP "unless full payment is received in 14 days ...bla bla ...consider commencing court proceedings" bla bla... We now don't know what to do.

You start by reading the newbie thread. When you get to post 4 it covers debt collectors letter.

Sadly ignore is not the advice we give to PCNs and you may have missed your window to appeal. However in post 4 it suggests you still try to appeal. This may be useful later on down the line if it gets to court. The fact that you did pay means there was no loss to PE. I don't suppose you still have the ticket though!

As this is PE, they are litigious and may well take of to court, so if/when you get an LBCC you will need to follow the advice in post 5 to deal with this, or you can google parkingticketappeals and they can also help you at that point for a fee. (An organisation trusted by this forum).

  • As it happens, we do have the receipt. I saved it as one of a few souvenirs of a lovely day out.

Well that is good news. Send in appeal and include photocopied evidence of ticket to show there is no loss. Get reading that newbie thread.
