will child benefit update my tax credit claim automatically

OK did my tax credits renewal online and had the letters back this week, no problems.
However my eldest child is 16, he has a place on a BTEC course (dependant on GCSE results) and the intent is he will stay on in full time non-advanced education.
I sent back the form to child ben to tell them this, but am still awaiting their confirmation that he has been reinstated on the child ben award.
Obviously at this point my tax credits renewal assumes he will no longer be in education from the end of August and will drop from that week onwards.
So what I am wondering is will the child benefit revising the award automatically notify tax credits to review their award as well, or do I need to contact tax credits directly once the child benefit department confirm he is back in the award?

You'll have to tell tax credits yourself. Don't rely on departments to talk to each other.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

OK, thanks. May leave it until the CHB has been revised as I doubt the tax credit people will change the award until that has been done, but make sure I ring before the end of August.
