Hi There
First time Post need some Help, my partner over 7 years ago took a loan out with Beneficial Finance (which part of the HSBC group), I went through her paperwork as she wants me to deal with it, on the paperwork it says that she took out PPI.
So I got the phone number for HSBC, which she gave them permission for me to speak on her behalf so we quoted her ref numbers & all that they said on there system that she never took out ppi but we have paperwork that says that she did, I really don't know what to do as it seems like a more complicated one. Any help will be very much appreciated.

If the Bank say PPI was not taken out, then it's likely (for example) that the PPI was cancelled prior to payment during the "cooling off" period. The loan paperwork you have would not reflect any such cancellation.all that they said on there system that she never took out ppi but we have paperwork that says that she did,
If you remain unconvinced, you can send the Bank a Subject Access Request (SAR) letter which will cost you £10 but should provide you with all details kept on file for you for at least six years. Remember, the loan agreement is not in itself proof that you had PPI-in order for it to be refunded it has to have been paid (as well as mis-sold).
Not at all, so don't be tempted to sign up with any claim companies-they can do no more than you do yourself.it seems like a more complicated one0 -
Many thanks for the reply, from what my partner said she never made any cancelations on this ppi. Best thing to do is do an SAR. And find out more. But won't be getting any law firms involved want to get this done ourselves. Will keep you informed with what happens. Will get a letter out in the next few days. Thanks again for the advice.0
