Reclaiming PPI

I have ignored all calls etc regarding reclaiming PPI but having heard reference to ongoing claims being settled on the news today I thought I should give it some consideration but still think I am on a sticky wicket. I might well have been sold PPI with my first mortgages but as they were about 30 years ago I have no documentation remaining. I can remember the lenders were Abbey National and Halifax and obviously the name of the properties but that is it....is it necessary to have account numbers? Also, I declared myself bankrupt 4 years ago and had 7 credit card/loan accounts following the collapse of my self employment business.....does bankruptcy mean that any PPI claims would be refused? Thanks in anticipation of any assistance.

MPPI was hardly available 30 years ago. it also pre-dates regulation. Plus, most MPPI complaint are rejected. So, you have a lot going against you even if you did have it and its probable you didnt.

Most MPPI is standalone and not bundled in with the mortgage payments. So, you would need something. Especially if it was not the lender that sold it.

That ends it for you. Anything pre-bankruptcy would not be paid to you if your complaint was successful. It is a pre-bankruptcy asset.

Dont waste your time as you probably didnt have it (given the year) and its against the one type of PPI that is still retailed today and sees most complaints rejected and you wouldnt get any money even if it could be located and in the unlikely event of it being upheld.

Regardless of everything else, bankrupts cannot gain anything personally from PPI complaints.

Don't waste any more time with this and under no circumstances should you ever sign up with a Claims Company.
