Unfair sanction - including a new useful link

I was just reading an interesting article in the guardian
about Sanctions and there was a very interesting link to a new body that helps with advice and advocacy.

This one is unique in that it's ex staff who were able to escape the regime.

Jobseeker sanction advice.

Perhaps it could be added to the sticky at the top of this forum.

No, they didn't like what was being required of them and they were fortunate enough to be in a position to choose to get out of the department.

And now putting knowledge and experience to good use.

    Another thread here.

I worked in a Unemployment Benefit Office back in the 90's when UBO's and the Jobcentre were different things.

I'd hate the job in the current climate, it's way way too harsh

i would like to comend people for the most part who work in the jobcentre dwp for the most part they are courteous and empathetic in their dealings how ever there are a few that remain who in my opinion are neanderthal in their assumptions and attitude ... i am currently in the unfortunate aspect of being unemployed and whilst my advisor is absolutely wonderful and in fact once i start back at work (sooner rather then later i pray) have said to her that i would love to keep contact with her and meet for coffees etc ... that being said the receptionists (if you can call them that as they dont have desks etc) are aweful in my experience look down their nose at you as if you are a beggar or something they trod on on the bottom of their shoe! and god forbid you are conscientious and are early you will in no uncertain terms be spoken to in a manner that would make a dog hide for cover and sent out into the rain for being early! i hope they dont bequeath this horror of being unemployed once scotland makes the decision to go independent and do a reform shake up of the system!
